Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is the Mexican American sportscaster. Her employer is ESPN and is a SportsCenter News Anchor. She started working at ESPN in 2016. Her mother is television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual by the time she turned nine. It is this skill that helped her get her first role as an Univision production assistant in Miami. In Miami, she was a producer for national shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. The CBS subsidiary in St. Petersburg hired her in the following year as a sports reporter. Then, in 2009 the news reporter relocated to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she was employed by KNVO TV 48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. Covering stories on trafficking in drugs and immigration on both sides of the border, she served as a reporter for newscasts at 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a anchor, reporter and later anchor for anchoring the 9 p.m. news in English, and a reporter again for at 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. Also, she was often asked to serve as an anchor for sports and weather. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallasstation, which is where she is more responsible. She wrote pieces on Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS, and World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. She produced Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra and anchored it. She was promoted to anchor the sports segment on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. The same role she also worked for Primer Impacto (a network magazine) and Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports show). Antonietta Collin's parents originally hail from Veracruz Mexico. Her birth date was November 22nd on the 22nd of October, 1985, in Mexico City. There is an older sister. In 1992, the family left Mexico to the US and eventually settled in Miami. Then, shortly afterward they separated, and in the year 1995, Fabio Fajardo was remarried. He passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. In the summer of the year 2006, Antonietta took an entire week with her sister at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl worked there. Antonietta still a senior at high school, yet she knew exactly what career path she was looking for. While deciding if Mount Union was right to her needs, Antonietta went to visit the campus. She loved the campus. They also offered her the major that she desired. After completing her high school education she was accepted into the University to pursue media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and also the head of WRMU in which she's a part. They developed a close connection. Mark's passion for journalism and her self-confidence instilled confidence in her. In turn, she attempted to live up to his standards and not let him down.
